Who Can Participate?

Referral Sites

Hospitals, first responders, schools, community-based organizations, and more can submit referrals to outpatient treatment for opioid use disorder.

Receive Referrals

Treatment Organizations

Participating treatment organizations provide weekly appointment availability for individuals seeking medication for addiction treatment (MAT).

Provide Support

Peer Support Agencies

During the referral process, individuals can opt-in for a peer support referral. Peers follow up within 24 hours of the referral to help navigate any barriers to treatment.

Our referral platform is accessible on any electronic device and referrals take less than 5 minutes to complete.

High Capacity

Individuals select from over 2,500 available appointments weekly and can be seen in as little as 24 hours.

Automatic & Efficient

Discharge instructions and referral documentation are printed and electronically sent to all parties involved – zero phone calls required.

Medication Vouchers

Individuals with no insurance automatically receive a voucher to cover the cost up-to 14 days of any combination buprenorphine/naloxone prescription.

Transportation Vouchers

Everyone referred receives a free, round-trip ride for their first clinic appointment.

Peer Support Services

Individuals can opt-in to be connected to a peer in recovery for additional support with no extra steps.

Low Barrier Approach

Our referral network partners will accept any patient regardless of insurance status, polysubstance use, or previous treatment history.

Reliable & Secure

Our referral platform is HIPPA-compliant and is hosted on the New York State Health Commerce System.

Follow-Up Support

MATTERS staff follows up with everyone referred through the program to improve continuity of care and retention in treatment.
